About the Chapter

The Bluegrass SHRM Student Chapter consists of students in Lexington and the surrounding areas.  This includes students from Eastern Kentucky University, Georgetown College, Sullivan University, Transylvania University, National College, Midway College, and the University of Kentucky.

Our chapter meets at different host sites in the Bluegrass Region. At each meeting, a different guest speaks about a particular hot HR topic.  Students are offered the opportunity to meet HR professionals, ask questions, learn about the host company, and tour the facilities when possible.  We ask that each person planning to attend a meeting RSVP.  This address can also be used to find answers to any questions you may have or to gather additional meeting information.

Membership Information

Bluegrass SHRM student membership is free!  To join, simply click here and complete the application.

National SHRM membership is also available to students and is highly encouraged.  The cost is only $35 and well worth it!  National membership gives you access to informational resources including a 12-month subscription to HR Magazine and networking resources such as conferences and an on-line directory of all national members.  SHRM also provides opportunities for scholarships and awards, internships, full-time jobs, and professional development materials.  To join or for more information, visit www.shrm.org/students. 

To be eligible for student membership, you must be enrolled in 6 credit hours per term in a degree-seeking program and be taking or planning to take course work that supports a demonstrated interest in human resource management.
