Tracy Morford, SPHR
President

Tracy has a B.A. in Organizational Management and has been certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) since December 2000. She has been a member of BGSHRM since 2002 and has served on the Board of Directors as Succession Planning Director and President-Elect. She also served on the KYSHRM Council as Director-at-Large, Philanthropy during 2007 and 2008.

Tracy is currently the Human Resources Manager for Cardinal Hill Healthcare System.  Prior to this she operated an HR consulting business, Tracery, LLC, for over six years, and she has worked as an HR Director within private and government sectors for both small and large companies.

Jeri Tackett, SPHR
President-Elect

Jeri has more than seventeen years of experience in human resources with small, regional and Fortune 500 companies, including responsibility for organizational development, strategic planning, leadership development, employee relations, policy development, compensation planning, benchmarking, recruitment and retention, and benefits administration.  As Director of Operations and HR with Benefit Insurance Marketing, an employee benefit and workforce consulting firm, she is responsible for the HR function for the company, as well as routinely consulting with clients on a variety of human resource and business challenges.  As a three-time Best Places to Work award winner, part of Jeri’s role is to ensure that BIM remains an employer of choice by providing a challenging work environment that not only supports, but encourages work-life balance.

Jeri has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management, and received her SPHR certification in 2002.  In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at home with her husband and two daughters.

Tracie Shapiro, SPHR
Treasurer

Tracie has over 14 years experience in human resources, training, office administration, and customer relations in diverse corporate cultures and is currently the Director of Human Resources at Georgetown College. She earned Associate Degrees in both Management and General Business from York Technical College in South Carolina. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Winthrop University.

Amanda Huddleston
Secretary/Business Manager

After receiving a BA degree in Communications from Eastern Kentucky University, Amanda became a recruiter for a local grocery distributor.  After a year recruiting entry and mid-level employees, she became a HR Generalist working in recruitment, benefits administration and policy adherence for 2 years.  For the past four years, Amanda has been employed by People Plus, a full service (family-owned and woman-owned) staffing firm.  In June 2008, Amanda became a Vice President where she currently manages operations, marketing and human resources.  She is active in the Lexington Rotary Club, LYPA, BGSHRM, Junior Achievement volunteer and is on the board for the Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky.  She is also a graduate of the United Way “Get-On-Board” program which trains individuals how to be successful board members.  She resides in Lexington with her husband and son.

Tracy Richardson, SPHR
Past President

Tracy has been a member of BGSHRM since 1996. She has been on the Board of Directors for the last three years serving as Secretary, Public Relations Director, President-elect and President.  Tracy received a B.A. in Communications/Management and an M.S. Ed. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky. She received her SPHR in 2003.

Tracy is currently the Human Resources Officer for the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department. Prior to this position she served as the HR Manager for the Bluegrass Airport and in a variety of HR positions for the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government. Tracy has also served as an instructor for the HRCI certification preparation program at UK and an adjunct instructor for the University of Kentucky, Sullivan University, Midway College and Lexington Community College.

She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, two beautiful twin girls and her dog.

Jenny Goins, SPHR
Professional Development Director

Jenny has more than 20 years of experience in human resources and training and organization development. She is currently the Deputy Commissioner for Employee Benefits for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  She was previously the HR Manager for ENTRAN in Lexington, and prior to joining ENTRAN she was the HR Director for ImagePoint in Knoxville, TN. She is retired from the U.S. Air Force where she held positions in public relations, human resources, and training and development. Her last 10 years in the Air Force were in education at the Air National Guard Education Center in Knoxville, TN where she retired as Commandant of the Noncommissioned Officer Academy. While in Knoxville, Jenny was a member of the local SHRM chapter and a former president of the Knoxville chapter for the American Society of Training & Development. Jenny holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management and a Masters Degree in Education from Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN. She earned her SPHR certification in January 2006.

Michael Wells, SPHR
Membership Director

Michael has served in a variety of HR positions in the restaurant, software/contract publishing and media industries since 1987.  He has been employed with the Lexington Herald-Leader since 1994, where he is currently a Human Resources Generalist.  Most of his experience has been in benefits, employee relations, training, and HRIS. Michael has been a member of BGSHRM and National SHRM for many years, receiving his PHR certification in 2000 and his SPHR certification in 2008.  He has an Associates Degree in Business Management, and a BA in Organizational Management.  Michael served as the Website/Communications Director on the Bluegrass SHRM Board for two years.

Liz Caras, SPHR
Public Relations Director

Liz has been an HR Business Partner at Lexmark International Inc. since 2006, supporting the company’s Consumer Printing Division. She joined Lexmark in 2004 as Recruiting Practices Coordinator, responsible for streamlining and improving the company’s U.S. recruiting processes.

Before joining Lexmark, Liz spent more than 17 years in journalism, as a reporter and metro assigning editor, working at several daily newspapers across the country. The last 12 were with Knight Ridder, where she specialized in recruiting, staff development and the management of intern programs.

Liz has bachelor’s degrees in journalism and English from the University of Kentucky. She earned her SPHR in 2005.

LeAnn Hamm, PHR
Student Chapter

LeAnn has eight years HR experience and maintains the PHR designation.  She graduated with honors from Midway College.  LeAnn is employed by Neogen Corporation in Lexington as a Human Resources Generalist.  Prior to joining Neogen, she worked at Lexmark International and Bluegrass Coca-Cola.  Her HR background includes recruiting, benefits, performance management, employee development and behavioral assessment.  She has been a member of BGSHRM and national SHRM since 2005 and has served as the Foundation Director for the past two years.  In addition to SHRM, LeAnn is a board member with the Georgetown College Employee Advisory Committee.  When away from work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband Dennis.

Mauritia Kamer
Legislative Affairs Director

Mauritia is a member of Stites & Harbison’s Labor & Employment Law Service Group. Her employment litigation practice is representing corporate clients in employment discrimination lawsuits, wage and hour litigation, and trade secret and restrictive covenant matters. Her experience includes counseling management and representing employers before administrative agencies, state and federal trial courts and arbitrators in matters arising under FMLA, Title VII, FLSA and ADEA. She spends considerable time working with clients on preventative measures, including drafting employee policies, counseling on disciplinary actions and investigations, and negotiating severance and release agreements. She also represents employers in obtaining immigrant and non-immigrant visas on behalf of their employers. Mauritia is admitted to practice in both Kentucky and Ohio and is currently the firm’s only lawyer admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Mauritia has a B.A, cum laude. in Political Science from Virginia Tech University and a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Robin Fleischer
Workforce Readiness Director

Robin Salyer Fleischer is the Director of the Graves Center for Calling and Career at Georgetown College. Robin enjoys creating opportunities for employers to build campus relationships and serve as a campus connection for recruiting and meeting workforce needs. In addition to SHRM, she is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, and the National Career Development Association.

Robin feels privileged to work in higher education for the past 9 years, providing guidance and counseling to students and alumni in their career development process serving at Asbury College, 4 years with Transylvania University Career Development, and 2 years with the University of Kentucky Stuckert Career Center.  Her degrees in Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and Master of Science in Counseling Psychology are from the University of Kentucky; she is a National Certified Counselor, and she is pursuing her doctorate in education.

Robin has a passion for the people and community of Lexington and volunteers in many areas including Lafayette High School Boys and Girls Soccer Booster Clubs, Leadership Lexington Youth Program, Junior League of Lexington, Lexington Young Professional’s Association, Bluegrass Healthy Marriages Initiative, and Rotary Club of Lexington to name a few.  Married 24 years to her high school sweetheart, she and her husband spend lots of time watching their three older teenagers play high school and college soccer.

Betty Spohn
Diversity Director

Betty is the Director of Business Services for Behavioral Medicine Network in Lexington, KY.  She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in English from the University of Kentucky, where she also completed her Master’s Degree in Library Science and her Doctor of Education.  She previously worked for Saint Joseph HealthCare as the Director of Training and Education and then as the Director of Employee Development.  In addition to Bluegrass SHRM, Betty is a member of SHRM, Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Society, and Employee Assistance Professionals Association.


Andrea George
Best Places to Work & State Conference Promotions Director

Andrea is currently an HR Business Partner at Fifth Third Bank supporting the Central Kentucky affiliate. Prior to this position, she served as a Financial Analyst with Fifth Third until moving to Human Resources in 2006. As an HR Business Partner, Andrea’s responsibilities include leadership and organization development, performance and talent management, recruitment and retention, and employee relations. Andrea has been active in numerous business and charitable organizations including membership with BGSHRM since 2006, Junior Achievement, March of Dimes, and Lexington Art League.

Andrea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Kentucky.

Jenny Whitis, SPHR
Foundation Director

Jenny has over 25 years of management experience in Human Resources and operations with companies such as The Lexington Clinic, Osram Sylvania’s Lighting Division, Matsushita and Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Kentucky University and received her SPHR Certification in 2006.  Jenny joined Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance as their first Director of Human Resources in January of 1996, shortly after the fund began operating.  She has been an integral part of the management team and has attributed to the organization’s overall success.  Those successes include but are not limited to KEMI being named twice as one of Kentucky’s top 25 Best Places to Work.  Jenny resides in Lexington with her husband, Calvin.  Calvin and Jenny have two sons, Brandon and Jerad.  Jerad is a police officer in Jackson, TN and Brandon is a Captain in the United States Army.  Jenny serves on the Board of Directors Advisory Committee for Women Leading Kentucky and has served on the American Association of Compensation Insurance Funds Human Resources National Committee.

Anthony Roberts
Communications & Website Director

Anthony is the Director of Career Services for ITT Technical Institute for the Lexington, KY Campus. He has worked in the fields of Career Services and Employment Recruiting for over 9 years. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Morehead State University and recently completed his Master’s Degree in Adult & Higher Education with an emphasis in Career Counseling. He was previously the Coordinator for Career Services at Bluegrass Community & Technical College and the Technical Employment Recruiter for ACS, Inc. Anthony’s responsibilities as Career Services Director at ITT Tech are to provide group and individual career employment assistance to students and graduates. This includes the career search, resume preparation, interviewing skills, salary negotiation, and being a promotable employee. He also handles employer relations by networking with employers to help them post positions, source & screen candidates, and host on-campus interview / information sessions and career fairs for employers. Anthony has been a member of Bluegrass SHRM since 2008 and was previously a founding member of Gateway SHRM in the Morehead area. Anthony is a board member and past-president of the KY Association of Colleges & Employers (KACE) and a member of the Southern Association of Colleges & Employers (SoACE).
